Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 November 2026  ·  Applies to ticnes.ai and its subdomains

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using ticnes.ai or any platform published on its subdomains, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with them, do not use the sites.

Where a specific platform publishes its own terms — for example a competition’s rules or a paid service agreement — those terms apply to that platform in addition to these, and prevail in the event of a conflict.

2. Who we are

The sites are operated by TICNES, Lda., trading as TICNES AI. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to TICNES, Lda.; “you” refers to the person or organisation accessing the sites.

3. Permitted use

You may read, view and interact with the sites for lawful purposes, and use the services offered on them in accordance with their published documentation. You must not:

  • copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the sites, or reverse-engineer any software except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
  • use automated means to scrape, crawl or harvest content at a rate that degrades the service for others, or in breach of our robots.txt directives, save for standard search-engine and advertising-crawler access;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, network or data, or probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the sites without our prior written permission;
  • upload or transmit malicious code, or use the sites to distribute malware, phishing material or spam;
  • impersonate another person, misrepresent your affiliation, or create accounts by automated means;
  • use the sites in a way that infringes the rights of others, breaches applicable law, or facilitates money laundering, fraud or the circumvention of sanctions.

We may suspend access for conduct that breaches this section. Where a breach is serious, we may report it to the relevant authority.

4. Accounts and credentials

Some platforms require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your credentials confidential, and for activity carried out under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised. We may require authentication through a third-party identity provider; that provider’s own terms govern your use of its service.

5. Automated and AI-assisted output

Several of our platforms use artificial intelligence to generate or summarise content. You acknowledge that:

  • automated output can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and must be verified before it is relied upon;
  • output is provided as an aid to a human decision-maker, not as a substitute for professional judgement — this is particularly important for legal, financial and safety-related questions;
  • where a platform interprets legislation or regulation, the official published text governs in all cases;
  • you remain responsible for any action you take on the basis of automated output.

We monitor accuracy and publish known limitations, but we do not warrant that automated output is error-free.

6. Competitions and scholarship programmes

Programmes we run — including the TICNES AI Scholarship Hackathon — publish their own eligibility rules, deadlines, evaluation criteria and disbursement conditions. Submitting an entry means accepting those rules. Submissions must be your own work; plagiarism, undisclosed third-party authorship or misrepresented eligibility results in disqualification. Award decisions are made by the evaluation process described in each programme’s rules and are final within that process.

7. Intellectual property

The sites, their design, text, graphics, software and the TICNES AI name and logo are owned by TICNES, Lda. or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link, and you may share links freely.

Content you submit remains yours. Where a service requires it to operate — for example to process a document you upload or to evaluate a competition entry — you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process that content for the purpose of providing the service. We do not use your private content to train models, and we do not publish it without your permission.

8. Third-party links and services

The sites link to external websites, including our own platforms on separate subdomains and third-party services. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Following a link takes you to a service governed by its own terms.

Some pages display advertising served by third parties. Advertisements are selected by the advertising network, not by us, and their content does not constitute our endorsement. See the Privacy Policy for the cookies involved and how to opt out.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the sites available and correct, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, security work, third-party outages and events outside our control may interrupt the service. We may modify, suspend or discontinue a platform or feature; where a paid service is affected we will give reasonable notice and, where appropriate, a pro-rata refund.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The sites and their content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the sites will be free of errors, viruses or other harmful components, or that defects will be corrected. Nothing in these terms limits warranties that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TICNES, Lda. and its directors, employees and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use the sites, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damage.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising from your use of the sites is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred euro. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify TICNES, Lda. against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the sites, or content you submit that infringes the rights of a third party.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide access would create a security or legal risk. You may stop using the sites at any time and, where you hold an account, request its deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Angola. The courts of Luanda have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from them, save that — where mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence give you the right to bring proceedings locally — that right is unaffected. Before starting proceedings, both parties agree to attempt resolution in good faith for thirty days.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service or the law. The date at the top of the page shows the current version. Material changes are announced on the site before they take effect; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
